the Ken Burns film JAZZ

not only is jazz one of the most overlooked art forms, it really has an overlooked history. this film is one of the best documentaries i have ever seen. and ive seen a lot. this 10 episode film not only showed the evolution of jazz, but the world around jazz, how jazz affected the world, and most important the triumphs and failures of jazz. it is truly captivating, towards the end of this installment when it gets a little more personal i cried about 4 times in one episode because it told you the raw truth. ill admit i have not always been a jazz fan but have lately been delving into it and honestly if i knew nothing about jazz and watched this movie it would completely have me hooked. i owe much of my appreciation to ken burns.
a song recommendation: “Autumn Leaves” by Sarah Vaughan. I get utter and complete goosebumps whenever i hear it, she to me is the best singer of all times and accompanied by of course talented musicians.
