im sure many of you have been startled by a phone call you have recieved. these can consist of parents receiving bad news about their children or kids getting bad news from a friend. however this phone call was neither this nor that. it was funny. picture it, san diego california. me on the living room couch at around 10:30 pm (by the way during the summer im staying with my parents to take a summer course at a jc and then after that ill be returning to wonderful rancho cucamonga to be living with my older sister whom i lived with previous to this sd excursion..back to the task at hand):
im sitting on the couch watching spanglish on tbs, which i come to think as adam sandlers most versatile role but also as one of those ironicly funny movies, not ironic like alanis morrisette but ironic like i shouldnt be taking this much pleasure in someones fucked up family but again i digress. so me, spanglish, couch. my mom and stepdad have been asleep for about an hour now. (we are morning not night people)
my step dad comes into the living room and asks, “kk, have you been outside?” and i replied “no” and he said “well bruce just called to tell us that our front door was wide open so im gonna close it”
i immediately started laughing. who gets a call from someone telling them that there frontdoor is wide open when the people are actuallyhome. or sad that i didnt realize the front door was even open. (give me a break its like 80 degrees at night here, reached a high of 103). bruce by the way is my step dads boss which added even more hilarium to this story. to even add on top of that, the door was left open by me but hours earlier. i had decided to go for a little jog and ended up getting a bloody nose so i had to run back to myself blood and all and when i got back to my house i just ran in without shutting the door. whats even more funny to even add to all of the above, our front door is like in our house literally there is no foyer or nothing it opens right into the very living room i had been sitting in this intire time clutching to my oblivion no doubt. alright well i hope me bloody nose and phone call enticed you becuase i have definitely had one of those super funny awkward days and well i laughed so you should too.
