Fender Bender

It finally happened. I got in my first car accident. I mean, I have been in several car accidents (more than usual I’ve been told) but this was the first one where I was driving. I will try to preempt your questions after the jump! Continue Reading »

While much of the US is being struck by winter weather America’s Finest City, San Diego, seems to be laughing at everyone else. I went to the baseball game this weekend, and it was such a beautiful day. The field looked gorgeous as well as the rest of the sky. Here are a few pics:

Petco Park with the Downtown sky line

The perfectly manicured Petco Green

We’ve all got them. And we are all probably the brunt of someone else pet peeves. I have a few that drive me insane.

People who stop or slow down on the road to change lanes. That is what causes traffic jams ( read articles here and here). I understand that perhaps you are afraid you are going to miss your exit, but the most the time I see people do it for no reason. They just don’t like the lane they are in and trying to get over to a better lane. Not only is it frustrating, it could dangerous. I have had to almost slammed on my breaks because someone decides they want to get over and starts dropping their speed at a larger interval. I’d rather be cut off because usually I just need to lightly press my brakes because they at least intend on going at a same or faster speed than I am. Just changed lanes when it is convenient for you.

I have a life that constantly throws me curveballs. Someone is always hurt, there’s always a funny situation, there is always an awkward moment. On a daily basis, I think to myself, “Man…that WOULD happen to me of all people.” Of course I am a normal person with a normal family and a normal life. But rather the situations my family and myself get into seem to teeter between ridiculous and bad luck. Most days I can find it in good fun but other days it takes a toll.

A few years ago there was an incident at a McDonald’s on Balboa Avenue. Every time we went there my locked her keys in the car, and it was 3 or 4 times before it finally stopped. The last time we even joked about it before we got out of the car.

yesterday was my brother in laws birthday and he had a little get together at the restaurant islands. i was running late because i had class so i parked as close as i could and tried to rush. as soon as i parked, a guy (vaguely familiar) got out of his car and seemed to be waiting for me. when i got he was waiting for me and asked hey, you running late too? and i said yes. he then said hey we’re matching! and indeed we had pretty similar green sweaters on, mine was of course scoop necked and womanly, his was more v necked and manly, dark jeans, and black shoes. i just laughed it off and went inside, still not remembering who this guy is and wondering why he recognized me right off the bat. so we walk into the restaurant and my brother in law immediately sees us and says, did you guys come together? and im like no! (in my head im thinking, i cant even remember who this guy is) and then my brother in law is like, but your matching! and im like yeah yeah. i get it. so awkward. more awkward but embarassing none-the-less because i still never found out this guys name or anything!

i woke up this morning and walked out to get into the shower. The cleaning guy (i live in a dorm) was like wait a few minutes im not done. So im standing there half asleep just waiting. After about 10 minutes i realize i dont hear anyone in the bathroom. I walk in and low and behold, its empty. There are two doors so im sure the cleaning man walked out the other door but i felt so stupid standing in the hallway with my toiletries and my towel. some one even asked why i was waiting there. for the shower of course. he probably saw the cleaning guy walk out from the other door.

crying

I am both a person who cries and a person who does not cry.  When it comes to my own life and my own problems, crying does not come easy.  Sure i might get teary eyed, or maybe one tear will pop out but im not a cryer. Onlypeople who live with me usually see me cry for personal reasons.  However, when it comes to movies, songs, books, or even a touching or sad story, I can cry until the next day.  Hysterically cry.  Sometimes I have to forgo watching the movie with people because I actually cry so uncontrollably that it makes other people uncomfortable (I am Sam is an example of this).  Other people find this ridiculous and will scoff (as was when I informed someone I cried like a baby during Hardball). I have decided to keep a list (since its apparent I LOVE lists) for all the movies I have cried in. This will be an ongoing list and each time I update, it will appear as a new entry. After the jump of course. Continue Reading »

Lately there have been a lot of best of the millenium of best of the 20th century lists circulating. There have also been a lot of worst of (insert time era) lists.  Sadly many things that I seem to love and appreciate are ending up on these lists.  So I’m making this a guilty pleasures list. While maybe they arent even guilty (I tend to love most of them quite shamelessly actually), they are all things I love and enjoy. Here is a teaser and the rest after the jump.

10. Disney Channel original movies…i mean what kid at the time didnt love brink, punks, or even model behavior.  i can live without the cheetah girls an zack and cody but if i was watching tv and saw smart house or wendy wu homecoming warrior on, i would definitely sit down and watch them.

we all wonder where we are gonna be in 40 or 50 years. some of us will be married with kids, some will be newly retired, and others will be still working for that cash and still looking for the loves of their lives. for me? I don’t know what ill end up doing or where I’ll be but I know for a fact ill never be alone. I have compiled a list of animals that I would pick as my choice companions if I ever end up alone and an old hag.
